Recruiting In Social Spaces….

When recruiters look at sourcing and candidates look at job roles, are they looking in all the right places. There are an abundance of ways to find jobs online but nowadays companies are waking up to the prospect that job searching has moved online and it’s less about picking up the local free sheet and more about looking at Linked in. The online job market is a fast paced landscape, which is constantly evolving and finding new ways to source/place talent. Other than conventional job sites & boards, social sites are fast becoming the new go to, to find jobs.

With sites like Linked in, Worky, Facebook, Google+, Twitter and more being utilised by employers, recruiters and candidates alike. The social job search has seen a massive increase in pace as it has become so easily accessible through mobile devices (smart phones, tablets and laptops).

If you take us here at Lipton Fleming for example, we have a presence on many sites including:

Having a presence on these social sites among others; increases your chance as an employer, recruiter or candidate of being seen. By having a presence we don’t just mean signing up and an occasional post or a quick dabble at researching roles, it means actively following and searching out companies or actively posting roles and engaging your communities. Also becoming aware of the latest tips and tricks for recruiters this might be rolling out the ‘apply with linked in button’ and candidates might want to use social alerts to search for job roles.

The power of social networks is fast becoming the ultimate force to be reckoned with and we have to embrace it as a two way relationship between recruiters and candidates, so make sure your eyes and ears are open.
