Group Marketing Director
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced group marketing director to join this successful publishing and events organisation, based in the heart of London.
As group marketing director, your role will be to develop strategies, plan and oversee marketing campaigns for all subscription, circulation, sales and recruitment support, research and branding campaigns across the companies magazine and online portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
• As marketing director, prepare detailed annual budgets and quarterly forecasts across all magazines and online portfolios
• Manage and account for expenditure within budget
• Formulate strategy for subscription marketing across all magazine and online brands
• Devise marketing plans and oversee execution of all subscription marketing
• Manage subscription bureau relationship to ensure effective control of subscription data and customer service
• Oversee all promotion for online platforms
• Devise marketing plans for new online initiatives and developments
• As marketing director, oversee all sales and recruitment support marketing
• Devise strategies for branding, re-launch, research and other ad hoc marketing campaigns across all brands in the sector.
• Represent the marketing team in the central data group meetings and work with centralised data team to ensure best practise use of data, data development and enhancement to improve effectiveness of marketing campaigns
• Manage relationship with internal database team to ensure maximum support for team on data work and data processes
• Manage relationship with creative agencies and oversee briefing and creative process for all campaigns
• As marketing director, ensure that all brand values are being maintained across all creative platforms
• Communicate strategies and results back to group directors and ensure that marketing meets the needs of the wider team
• Ensure the team develops relationships with trade associations and industry organisations relevant to the brands
• Monitor competitor activity and keep team up-to-date with rival developments, initiating campaigns to keep our competitive edge
• Attend board meetings and contribute to wider group strategies
• Recruit, manage, train and motivate direct reporting staff according to company procedures.
Key Requirements
• Degree level educated or equivalent
• Experience working as a marketing director with B2B publishing
• Vast marketing experience in a senior management position
• Marketing qualification – eg IDM or CIM or equivalent
• Proven experience in all elements of subscription marketing management
• Experience in marketing online brands and products
• Knowledge of research, branding campaigns, and sales support marketing
• Previous experience in preparing budgets, strategies and marketing plans across all media
• Exceptional communication skills
• Proven skills in building relations and negotiating with suppliers across circulation and marketing spectrum
• Experience in recruiting, motivating and managing direct reports
