Senior Editor (Medical)
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Editor, from a medical communications agency background to join a growing agency, based in the heart of Berkshire. As an experienced Senior Editor, you will have a science degree or equivalent and vast editorial experience within a medical communications agency. As senior editor, you will have come from a copy editor or production editor background and looking for your next big challenge.
PURPOSE
• To assist in the production of high-quality educational materials for pharmaceutical clients.
• To manage the progression of jobs from approved copy to print stage, ensuring that optimum communication is achieved through effective use of words and design.
• To assist in the control of workflow within the Editorial Department, ensuring the Department operates efficiently and that deadlines are met.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• As senior editor, edit and proof-read copy for a range of educational materials (e.g. slide presentations, printed materials, multimedia projects) for various audiences.
• Edit manuscripts to agreed style/specification, checking content, accuracy, consistency and grammar.
• Set up/maintain style sheets for each client account.
• Write simple copy where appropriate (e.g. abstracts, biographies, captions, copy-fitting)
• Liaise with designers to develop appropriate design options for all materials.
