A top ten media agency is looking for a proactive individual with experience in media planning and buying to be the media account manager for one of the UK’s big retail brands. This is an exciting prospect as it offers an individual the opportunity to be responsible for the media planning, buying and implementation of several large campaigns. This is ideal for someone at a Senior Media Planner Buyer level wanting to take the next step or an existing account manager wanting a new challenge. Key responsibilities:
• As an account manager you would be responsible for planning, buying and implementing advertising campaigns for a major UK retailer, as well as working on a number of other brands.
• In this role you would have the autonomy to oversee several large campaigns a year from start to finish.
• The position would involve media planning and buying across all media channels.
• You would be expected as a media account manager to have contact with your clients on a regular basis and attend client meetings.
• A key part of the role is that you will have a proactive approach, offering effective solutions to clients and keeping them informed of the media landscape.
Key Skills:
• The candidate would ideally have a media planning and buying background and have worked at a media agency either at a Senior Planner Buyer level or as an Account Manager.
• A good understanding of press is a must, as well as experience of working across all media channels.
• Retail experience would be preferable, as the main account client is one of the countries leading retailers.
• Any candidate applying for the position of account manager should have a familiarity with media planning systems and software such as TGI, NRS, DDS and RACE.
• The candidate needs to have a desire to develop strong management skills and enjoy working as part of a team.
• As a candidate you must have a determined, proactive attitude and ability to work to deadlines.
• A strong analytical approach and an outstanding attention to detail would be essential skills for the role of a media account manager.
• Strong client handling skills and excellent negotiation skills are also essential.
